Keith R. Berend, M.D., a native of Columbus, Ohio, and graduate of Upper Arlington schools, received his bachelor’s degree from Florida Southern College. He completed his medical doctorate and orthopaedic residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where he received several major awards for his research work.

Dr. Berend is the author of numerous articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals and has presented his work at a host of medical conferences.

Dr. Berend is a member of The Columbus Medical Association, The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The Piedmont Orthopedic Society and The International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.

Dr. Berend completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction of the Hip and Knee at Joint Implant Surgeons, Inc., and is an attending orthopaedic surgeon with that practice.

Dr. Berend has been selected to participate in the Hip Society Traveling Fellowship for 2004. His special interests include less-invasive total knee and total hip arthroplasty, rapid recovery protocols for faster recovery after surgery and outcome studies.
